    • Most of the money in the bank is the Wine Stroll (will be spent soon); other than that, expenses stay pretty low


11:15: Organization Update

  • NPU-O and KNO Update (meetings are on the 10th of every month)

    • Stan Sugarman:

      • 8 Kirkwood Road (empty lot next to Urban Pie). Proposal is for street level retail space and 6 townhomes. Building height was 45 feet (35 max code) and parking didn’t meet parking variances

      • APD is still looking for shooting suspect. Will not release information until they are arrested in an jail. Please continue to support Urban Pie

      • Kirkwood Dog Park Committee; meeting tonight @ Urban Pie 8:30pm. Looking at putting a dog park in Kirkwood

  • Membership:  Total Members: 67 Active. 9 Lapsed. Goal of 75 for 2017.

    • Back in 2015 there were only 30 members; if anyone ever asks about KBOA please feel free to pass out the “One Sheet” (don’t have to be a member to come to meetings)

      • We have a Sponsorship Chairman this year to make sure Sponsors are recognized and taken care of

      • Wahoo! Will add things in the passport to let attendees know where they can buy the wine they are sipping

      • Sponsors will get their tickets ahead of time!

  • Wine Stroll Committee Meetings:  Thursday Aug 31 @ 6PM- Randy’s House

  • Any special logo/picture should be sent through the Facebook Message

  • Child Care will be offered 6:30-10:30 (potty trained children only); $30/each on night of event ($5 off if you sign up in advance). Volunteers don’t have to pay

  • Lyft pickup at the Library and Post Office

  • No dogs allowed this year (City of ATL code)


11:45: Wine Stroll Non-Profit Awardees:

KBOA will donate $5,000 towards 2018 local nonprofit projects.

  • 10 nonprofit organizations submitted applications.  Amount subject to change based on funds raised.

    • Created a new process this year for vetting non-profits. Board has selected 5 non-profits this year

  • All nonprofits will have a booth at the Kirkwood Wine Stroll on 9/22 to learn about their work!

  • Wholesome Wave Georgia (Georgia Fresh for Less; doubling food stamp dollars at EAV Farmers Market)

  • KNO Roof Replacement (Looking to expand program to help neighbors in need; reach out to Stan directly if you’d like to help)

  • Lanta Gras (started in Kirkwood; goal to provide instruments and music instruction to children- this is the annual parade that happens in February)

  • Georgia Overdose  Prevention (overdose kits and needle exchange)

  • Fred Armon Toomer Elementary Educational Foundation (teacher training)
